Welcome to the South End of Paradise

Escape to the Beautiful Illusion

At Kalopsia, we’re proud to be known as Southenders—tucked away on the southern tip of this stunning 7-mile-long island, Great Guana Cay. From our resort, you can stroll from the Sea of Abaco to the Atlantic Ocean in minutes, then kick back on one of the most peaceful, postcard-perfect beaches you’ll ever experience.

Feeling social? We’ll gladly take you on a quick golf cart ride to the island’s charming settlement, where you can stock up on groceries and drinks—or dive into the local scene at vibrant bars and restaurants, including the world-famous Nippers.

Experience the Magic of Kalopsia

Wake up to breathtaking sunrises and end your day with unforgettable sunsets—nature puts on a show here like nowhere else. On clear nights, gaze at the Milky Way, watch for shooting stars, or even catch a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral lighting up the sky.

Adventure Starts Where the Road Ends

Your island adventure awaits with guided fishing trips, snorkeling and scuba diving excursions, or simply exploring the beauty of the Abacos by land or sea. Thanks to Kalopsia’s central location, day trips to nearby cays are a breeze. Head north to Green Turtle Cay, west to Treasure Cay, or south to Man-O-War and Elbow Cays—each offering its own charm, delicious dining, local shopping, fascinating history, and the warmest island hospitality.

Getting Here

Remote, Yet Remarkably Easy to Reach

Kalopsia offers the perfect blend of seclusion and accessibility. Despite its off-the-beaten-path feel, getting here is simple. Enjoy direct commercial flights into Marsh Harbour from major U.S. cities like Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Atlanta, and Charlotte.

From there, choose your adventure: hop on one of the multiple daily ferries, charter a private ride to Great Guana Cay, or even arrive by boat from Florida. Prefer to explore by sea once you arrive? Rent a boat locally and start discovering the beauty of the Abacos on your own terms.

  • If you’re arriving by boat from the U.S. or neighboring islands, we’d love to welcome you to Kalopsia by sea. Our GPS coordinates are 26.653956, -77.090526, and our marina features 16 slips of various sizes. We can accommodate boats up to 40 feet in length with a maximum beam of 11 feet—please contact us in advance to reserve your slip.

Need a boat? Rentals are available through Blue Wave in Marsh Harbour. The scenic trip to Kalopsia is approximately 8 miles, but be sure to check weather conditions before setting out, as the Sea of Abaco can sometimes be choppy.

  • Whether you're flying commercial or private, all flights arrive at Marsh Harbour Airport (MHH) on Great Abaco Island. Major airlines serving the island include American, Delta, Bahamasair, and Silver Airways.

    Customs Info:
Upon arrival, customs permits 2 bottles of wine or liquor per person. Please note that fresh fruits and vegetables are not allowed to be brought in.

    Ground Transportation:
Taxis are readily available at the airport—there’s no Uber here. For a smooth arrival, we recommend reaching out to Maryanne Dixon at +1 (242) 577-5200 (WhatsApp only). Feel free to call or message her in advance with your flight details to arrange pickup.

  • Once you’ve landed at Marsh Harbour Airport, you’ll want to head to the G & L Ferry Dock, about a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport. Expect to pay $25–$40 USD, depending on the number of passengers and amount of luggage—plus a tip, if you’d like.

    Ferry Details:

    • Visit gandlferry.com for the current schedule.

    • Fare is $15 USD one way.

    • No reservations are needed—just show up and hop on.

    • The ferry will drop you off at the Guana Cay Settlement.

Once you’re on the ferry, let us know which one you’re on, and we’ll be there to greet you and bring you to Kalopsia.

Prefer something private? You can charter a ferry directly to our dock for around $300 USD. To reserve, call +1 (242) 816-2628.

  • Golf Cart Rentals

There are several golf cart rental companies available on Great Guana Cay. Most will deliver your cart directly to the ferry dock. Kalopsia Resort is located about 2 miles from the dock—the last mile is a dirt road and can be a bit rugged. There are no street lights, so we recommend arriving before sunset if possible.

Note: We’re happy to take you to the settlement in our UTV .anytime.
